There was a good turn out for the AGM held at the clubhouse on Thursday 7th June. For full details of the meeting along with a copy of the Treasurers Report please contact Ray Connolly and Ian Stemp. Detailed below are the main points from the meeting:
Ray Connolly, Bill Comben and Ian Stemp were re-elected as Chairman, Club Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
The club made a profit for the season of £1,078.71 largely as a result of greater diligence in collecting annual subscriptions and match fees. The Youth section made a loss of £1,753.04. However it was explained that a lot of the capital expenditure for running the Youth section had now been paid for i.e. kits. The bar returned a smaller profit of £5,036.80 compared to last years figure of £6,241 (mainly as a result of the higher cost of restocking the bar combined with no increase in the selling prices).
The club turned over £31,701.24 for the season.
The Youth section will be fielding 13 sides this year. They will have a team for all ages covering 9-17 year olds. Also the Saturday soccer school continues to do well attracting over 60 children per session for 6-8 year olds.
The Youth section are also running a series of FA Level One training courses in the summer for all their team managers. This will help the club towards its ambition of achieving FA Charter Standard. Two new Welfare Officers have also been appointed for the coming season.
For the Senior section the following team managers were confirmed.
Andy Davies & Mark Peters – 1st Team, Kelvin Beckett & Andy Chapman – Reserves, Nigel Lomas & Johnny Vezza – A Team, Stuart Porte & Mark Connolly – B team, Chris Comben & Kelvin Beckett – Sunday 1st Team, Paul & Luke Martin Jones – Sunday Reserves, Nigel Lomas – Vets
In addition the possibility of introducing a 5th Saturday side was discussed. This would be managed by Nick Hale. It was decided to make a final decision on this subject to attendance at pre-season training and after consultation with the Redhill & District League. The decision as to whether this side would be the Priory’s B or C team was deferred for further discussion.
Redhill & District League: there will be no ID cards required for the coming season. Also the FA are trialing rolling on and off subs for clubs at this FA grade. The Redhill & District League have been appointed to try this iniative for the new season (affects Priory A & B Teams)
Youth Section – £160
Senior Section – £65 (increase of £5)
Bar Tariff: was agreed that pricing would remain the same as this year
It was noted that the club would like to thank officers, managers, sponsors and players for all their help and support throughout the year. The club again asked for additional help from members with regard to providing coaches for the youth teams training sessions, providing more club officers and for volunteers to run club events.
