Reigate Priory hosted fellow strugglers Forestdale at Park Lane on Saturday in desperate need of points and the game got off to the perfect start with captain Bradley Johnson beating his man and smashing the ball in from close range after two minutes. Johnson doubled his side’s lead when running on to a Michael Winnister through ball rounding the goalkeeper and turning into an empty net. Arnold Saurombe added a third just before half time tapping in after James Long had flicked on Dave McLaughlin’s long throw-in. Priory made certain of the points midway through the second half when a corner was flicked on by Scott Johnson and then Matt Eldridge for James Long to poke home from close range. Forestdale had a goal ruled out for offside as did Priory when James Long’s twenty yard piledriver was ruled out for offside. The visitors had a man sent off late on and won a penalty that was despatched for 4-1 despite the best attempts of veteran goalkeeper Mark Halsey. The win lifts Reigate Priory above their opponents and off the bottom of the table. Reigate Priory face high-flying A.M.Y this Saturday at Park Lane.
