Reigate Priory hosted mid-table Hanworth Sports on Saturday at Park Lane hoping to avenge the heavy loss suffered in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Priory rode their luck early on, Mark Halsey twice saving well and when a downward header that seemed destined for the goal bounced off the crossbar to safety, luck seemed to be on their side and it was the Reigate side that took the lead ten minutes before half time when Shane O’Keeffe’s overhit through ball bounced up and over the visiting goalkeeper in bizarre fashion. Midway through the second half Hanworth equalised with a shot from just inside the box that came through a crowd of players and nestled in the corner. With ten minutes remaining, O’Keeffe’s goalbound header was handled and the referee pointed to the spot. The penalty was duly despatched by skipper, Bradley Johnson. Priory were awarded a second penalty in injury time, but this time James Long took and the ball cannoned off the bar to safety. Three more valuable points for Reigate Priory takes them further clear of the relegation zone.
