Reigate Priory 3 – 3 Frenches Athletic
Reigate Priory faced local rivals Frenches Athletic at home on Saturday in their final game of the season, looking to avenge a heavy 7-0 defeat earlier in the season and although Priory started brightly they went behind midway through the first half when a low cross was turned in from close range via the post. Frenches doubled their lead when George Johnson finished from close range moments later and Adam Hilton went past stranded goalkeeper Mark Halsey and fired in just before the break to leave Priory three down. But Shane O’Keeffe pulled one back early in the second half to give Priory hope and when Jason Woolsey grabbed his sixth goal in eight games from close range midway through the second half, a comeback looked on the cards. Dave McLaughlin’s twenty yard drive late on secured his side a point and the man of the match award but James Leask might have earned his side all three points when he blazed over when well placed late on. A point could be enough to keep Priory up but is dependent on results elsewhere in the coming weeks.
